M-Star is a contact herbicide containing the active ingredient Paraquat Dichloride. Unlike systemic herbicides that travel through the plant, M-Star works on contact, killing the green tissue it touches almost immediately. It is classified as a non-selective herbicide, meaning it will damage or kill any green plant it lands on. It is most commonly used for pre-planting burn-down to clear existing weeds from fields before sowing crops, orchard and vineyard management to control weeds between rows without damaging tree trunks (provided they have brown, woody bark), and as a harvest aid to dry out crop foliage, such as potatoes or cotton, in preparation for harvesting.
Safety Warnings
M-Star is classified as a highly toxic pesticide (WHO Class I). It is extremely dangerous if swallowed and has no antidote. Strict adherence to safety rules is not optional—it is a matter of life and death. When handling or spraying M-Star, always wear waterproof gloves, long sleeves, long pants, goggles, and a face shield. Always use the measuring cup provided with the product; never use household spoons or cups. Store M-Star in its original container, in a locked cabinet or storeroom, away from food, animal feed, and children's reach. Never reuse empty containers for any purpose; always triple-rinse and dispose of them according to local regulations. M-Star contains additives to make it smell bad and cause vomiting if ingested, however, do not rely on these as a safety measure. Treat the product as deadly poison at all times.
